What does TÜV Rheinland do?
TÜV Rheinland tests the safety, usability, functionality and quality of products worldwide. It acts as a testing service provider from development to market approval, both nationally and internationally. The tests are carried out in the fields of medicine, protective clothing, children's toys, cosmetics, food, vehicles and electronics, among others.
TÜV Rheinland has a global network of testing laboratories and test centers for analyzing various issues. These include laboratories for environmental analysis and materials technology, for physical and chemical testing, and for the analysis of foodstuffs.
The largest laboratory centers of the so-called Global Technology Assessment Centers (GTAC) of TÜV Rheinland are located in Bangkok, Budapest, Cologne/Nuremberg, Milan, Silicon Valley, Shanghai and Yokohama. At the GTACs, experts from the independent testing service provider check and certify the quality and safety of products around the globe. This reflects the reality of the global flow of goods. TÜV Rheinland is a member of the Global Ecolabelling Network.
